I recently teamed up with Jak Burke from Baby Does NYC to create three baby registries. Each registry is based on a specific budget, $1500, $2500 and $4500 and all three are jam-packed with gear I highly recommend for new parents. Below, I've highlighted some advice on how to pick items based on any budget.
1. Crib Mattress - babies spend a lot of time snoozing during the first year of their life so it's important their crib be a safe, free from toxins environment. Luckily, mattresses made from all-natural materials are available in a range of prices, meaning you can afford one on almost any budget.
2. Travel System - owning a stroller that is compatible with a car seat can be a lifesaver. However, there are so many car seats on the market and it can be overwhelming to choose which is best for your family. The good news is, all car seats sold in the USA are safe, so my advice is to choose the stroller that works best with your lifestyle and then purchase a car seat that works with that stroller to create a travel system.
3. Breast Pump - purchasing or renting a breast pump that has a closed pumping system is important for ensuring that no mildew growth occurs in the machine. I always recommend Evenflo for this reason as I find these pumps lasts much longer than the ones offered by some other popular brands on the market.
