I try to be conscious about the quality of the products I use on my skin and hair but it wasn't until I became pregnant that I really took a closer look at the ingredients of some of my go-to beauty products. During my first trimester, I swapped out a few of my staples for more eco-friendly options - here are my favorites.
1. Tarte Cosmetics - Sure, this makeup line is more expensive than my normal drug store brand but all Tarte Cosmetics are paraben and phthalate free, two things I definitely didn't want on my skin during pregnancy. In my makeup bag are the Pressed Powder and Undereye Corrector, both work great and last all day.
2. Shea Moisture - I've been using this hair masque for years so I knew where to turn when I was looking to swap my old styling product for something more natural. Shea Moisture's Sea Salt Texture Spray leaves my hair feeling full without the gunky residue.
3. PiperWai - I've tried so many natural deodorant brands but this is the first one I've used that truly works. I like to use a little coconut oil first, then I apply this deodorant and I'm good to go.
